A Carbtrol Odor Control System was installed at this sewage treatment plant pump station in 2007 to treat hydrogen sulfide odors in a residential neighborhood in Cary, NC. The system has a maximum capacity of 450 CFM. However, site conditions require a flow of only 290 CFM which is achieved by adjusting the fan output with a slide gate on its discharge.
The Carbtrol Canister contains Catalytic Carbon specially formulated to provide high hydrogen sulfide removal capacity resulting in long carbon bed life. A weather shroud protects the fan from the elements. The canister is internally lined with sound attenuation material for noise abatement.
